Travel Instructions Latitude/Longitude: 43°03.9'N 87°32.4'W for GPS users ParkingVisitors arrive at the west entrance to the North Point Light Station, but no general visitor parking is available on site. Those in need of parking are directed to the parking lot at Lake Park Bistro, one block North of the Lighthouse. From the parking lot, visitors can access the Lighthouse by following the walks from the southeast corner of the lot. The lot maybe used for handicapped access. Educational ProgramsThe educational component of the Lighthouse operation provides an important link between a child’s current history and social studies curricula. It shows how such history has continued to impact our economy, our modes of transportation, communication methods and trade, resulting in products that reach all corners of the world through water transportation. Trained docents work with both elementary and middle school principals, teachers and neighborhood children’s groups to develop a responsive program that addresses the learning needs of each age group that may tour the facility. |
